Author Synopsis
Dr. Jordan Williams devotes her life to two things: saving patients in the operating room and pleasuring her latest conquest in the bedroom. Her idea of commitment is spending a few hours together in bed.
Single mom Emma Larson is Jordan’s polar opposite. Family and fidelity mean everything to her. After an ugly divorce from her wife, a plastic surgeon, she and her five-year-old daughter move in next door to Jordan. While she finds Jordan undeniably attractive, falling in love with another womanizing surgeon is the last things she needs.
When a bad fall leaves Jordan in need of assistance, Emma decides to help her while she recovers.
Could those six weeks turn out to be the beginning of a happily ever after, or will they both end up with a broken heart?
My Review
When I first read that Jae’s secondary character in her novel Heart Trouble was getting her own book I was really excited. Firstly I really enjoyed her in Heart Trouble so I knew this was going to be a good novel.
Check out my review of Heart Trouble here: Heart Trouble by Jae
Jae, as always, writes incredibly well and I would say she is up there with my favourite Lesbian Fiction writers. She writes good novels, with excellent pace and engaging story lines – this was no different.
I enjoyed the characters very much and I have a soft spot for Lesbian Fiction featuring families with children. Jordan is the ultimate playgirl and doesn’t see herself changing anytime soon. That is until she meets her new next door neighbour Emma and her five year old daughter. Emma has been wounded by her ex wife who mirrors Jordan in almost every way.
There where moments in the novel where I found that the novel lacked a little bit of angst, which surprises me because generally I normally complain when there is too much angst in a novel. Also I wish that Hope and Laleh from Heart Trouble had been more featured because they were one of my main reason i picked this novel up in the first place.
That being said this is still a novel I enjoyed and still swooned at Jae’s happily ever after.
4 stars.
