Under Your Skin by Lee Winter

If you loved The Red Files, you have to read Under Your Skin!

What was the book about?:
It’s been a year since the caustic queen, Catherine Ayers, told the world (literally) she was in love with Lauren King. They have built a nice life together in D.C., and now they are off to Iowa for Lauren’s family to meet Catherine and to plan their wedding. Of course, it wouldn’t be Catherine and Lauren if there wasn’t drama a foot and another big story to crack. This time involving Catherine’s estranged family and her ex-girlfriend, who was responsible for her exile to the L.A. gossip columns.

Featured Tropes:
Ice queen, a sequel

Book Strengths:
This book is a great follow-up to The Red Files. I loved getting to see the next chapter in Lauren and Catherine’s lives. It was great to learn more about the backgrounds of both women and see Catherine get closure around so many things. Lee Winter always writes a great book with a strong cast of characters and a story that keeps you glued to the pages.

Character Chemistry:
Catherine and Lauren are a perfect fit. There is a whole array of quirky characters, most of whom are related to Lauren. I grew especially fond of Meemaw, and really enjoyed the interactions between her and Catherine.

Heat Rating: 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

This book is everything you want a sequel to be, and more.

Star Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
