Dirt Nap by Carolyn Elizabeth

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this novel. It has everything I want in one; romance, sex, drama, comedy and a solid story to take you on an adventure.

What was the book about?
Dirt Nap continues from where Gallows Humor left off. So if you want to enjoy the whole story I would definitely recommend you read Gallows Humor first.

Corey Curtis is still recovering from the injuries she suffered from her fall and at times it is extremely debilitating. Her girlfriend Dr Thayer Reynolds is supportive as ever even with a issue she has to deal with at the hospital. Corey is getting back into work at the morgue and she has been called out to work with her mentor from college to collect a very and I mean very decomposed body. This discovery sets off a chain of events that could end in serious trouble. Keeping Thayer and Corey on the straight and narrow is Thayer’s grandmother Lillian.

Featured Tropes:
Medical, whodunit, romance

Book Strengths:
Throughout the whole novel I was entertained. There were times when I laughed out loud at the situations the women found themselves as well as from the snappy dialogue, in particular from Lillian. There was a pace to this story which pulls and doesn’t drag at all. I was so connected to Thayer and Corey and their group of friends.

Character Chemistry:
Corey and Thayer are wonderful together. No its not all roses and their relationship feels so real. Their chemistry is also off the charts. There is a deep friendship between Corey and Sargant Jim Collier even though it goes through some rocky patches. All the different friendships bring the whole novel together.

Heat Rating:
4.5

Wrap up:
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this novel. It has everything I want in one; romance, sex, drama, comedy and a solid story to take you on an adventure. I can’t wait to read Carolyn Elizabeth’s next novel.
