Blood Honor by Isabella

Crime family, danger, red hot sex what more do you need?

What was the book about?
I have to admit I have been a fan of this series since I first read “American Yakuza” around 6 years ago.

This is the fourth book in the American Yakuza series so it would be best for the reader to have read the previous three before this one. I will try not to have any spoilers in this review.

This novel contains all the danger, excitement and love that you come to expect from Luce and Brooke’s life. Luce is recovering from her injuries and also trying to come to terms with the fact that she now has a sister, Mei. Brooke, after filling in for Luce while she was “away”, is yearning for a calmer life in the country and hopefully a baby. However, as is ever in the life of the Oyabun, nothing is easy and there is always business to attend. This time Luce’s enemies are working together to either ruin her business or just kill her. Frank Yeow, the traitor to the Yakuza has now joined with Catherine Petrov to bring the Oyabun down and they have an insider to do the job. In the midst of this danger Agent Colby Water, Brooke’s ex-lover makes it her mission to bring an end of the violence and also who killed….. Well that’s a spoiler so I won’t mention who.

Featured Tropes

Book Strengths
I love these characters and when reading I get really invested in their lives. Yes, as head of her family Luce has had to make some serious decision, but you understand why. Brooke is not portrayed as the “softer” partner and has her own issues to deal with and makes decisions just as hard as her lover’s. Their love is strong enough to get them through even when there might be doubts about what each other wants.

From book one to book four the main characters and even the secondary characters are just as well written and lack nothing from their origins.

Book Weaknesses
None. Although I wish the next book in the series was ready to be printed because now I can’t wait to see what happens next!

Character Chemistry
The electricity between Luce and Brooke is palpable. They are so in tune with each other’s desires. The sex scenes are hot, did I say hot, I mean hot and firery! Brooke’s ex Colby Water, I don’t think, will get over the fact that she lost Brooke to Luce so completely.
