At First Sight by Harper Bliss

I can’t believe we have ten books in the Pink Bean series now! How did that happen?

What was the book about?
As soon as therapist, Jill’s new client, Amelia, walks into her office, she knows all bets are off. This woman has captivated her, and after one session, her feelings aren’t slowing down. There is only one thing for it; she needs to end her client/patient relationship with Amelia and never see her again. But the idea of not seeing this amazing woman is clouding her judgement.

How could she even move on from a woman like Amelia? But how could she continue to treat the object of her affection?

Book Pros
I went into reading this book with trepidation because I wasn’t wowed with book 9, ‘More Than Word’ in the Pink Bean Series. I was hoping for something spectacular from ex-escort, Katherine. But I had nothing to worry about. Harper Bliss nailed Jill and Amelia’s story.

Yes, this book is a little taboo with the Patient/Therapist relationship, but Harper Bliss manages to navigate it very well and at no point did I feel their relationship was in wrong any way. What I did enjoy about this book most of all is how fast-paced it is. There is no room for worry when Jill is so forthright in her feelings for Amelia.

Amelia, on the other hand, is confused as to why someone like Jill would want her, but honestly, Jill is an expert in making Amelia feel comfortable and at ease. It was a really lovely story to get swept away by.

I want to explain why I am giving this book 4.5 stars. It’s a great book and usually would be very deserving of the five stars. However, after reading ‘A Breathless Place’ (2020) by Harper Bliss, I feel like that is now the book to beat in her backlist. But this book is still very worth a spot on your must-read list.

Character Chemistry
Well, Amelia doesn’t really get why Jill would want her but Jill oft! The chemistry for her is there the moment they meet. She can’t help but imagine Amelia in all states of undress. The passion they have is hot, and when they finally fall into bed, it’s a long delicious sex scene that I thoroughly enjoyed reading.

Wrap up
Great book. I really hope this isn’t the end for our ladies of Darlinghurst/ Pink Bean as I have become very fond of them all. I can’t wait to see what Harper Bliss does next.

4.5/5
