Come Away with Me by Rachel Lacey

This is the best book in the Manhattan series so far!

What was the book about?
I love the Midnight in Manhattan series. This is the third one, and you don’t have to read the other two (Don’t Cry for Me and It’s in Her Kiss) first, but you’d be missing out on some fun if you don’t.
Piper Sheridan is the lead actress of the successful tv series “In Her Defense”. She has been dealing with crippling anxiety brought on by an event that has caused her to dread going out in public and socialising. However, Piper plans to overcome it and ventures out to the Dragonfly bar, albeit in disguise.

It’s there that Piper meets Chloe Carson, a flight attendant, and although Chloe has no idea who Piper is, and Piper is not willing to tell Chloe her name, they leave a lasting impression on each other. After Piper decides to take a trip to the Caymans and sees that Chloe is on the same flight, things really kick-off. This is a beautiful love story, but not without the pitfalls that each character needs to overcome.

Book Strengths
I loved the flow of this novel. Both characters were not cut out figures; they had rich background stories that gave the novel depth. Every moment Piper and Chloe share page time made me get the feels.

Piper’s extreme anxiety/PTSD and how she deals with it both by herself and Chloe’s help are really moving. Each scene dedicated to her anxiety is written so well I could almost feel how she felt.

For me, their first meeting sets up the story in such a brilliant way. Chloe’s niece, Cait, is also a vibrant character that makes Chloe’s character shine.

Character Chemistry
The moment Piper and Chloe meet, you know that this is going to be good. When they finally get together, even after a short time, you get the feeling that this is something special. They are hot together, and you really want them to succeed and conquer all the issues that could keep them apart.

Wrap up
A romance novel to give you the warm and fuzzies. You will be invested in both Piper and Chloe and their journey. I really enjoyed this novel, and I came away happier than before I started reading it. At the end of the story, Lacey has said that there would be a final book in the series, which I am very much looking forward to reading as soon as it comes out.
